April News Update

Weird News (Read the original Update here)

Welcome to the Weird April News update.

The first batch of tickets have been posted and should arrive within the next week! Our thanks to everyone who have already bought tickets to the event and we look forward to seeing you all in September. Tickets can be bought on-line via PayPal, by Cheque/Postal order or by credit/debit card over the phone. Full details of how to order your tickets can be found on our bookings page.

The speaker line-up is now complete and with eleven hours each day over we are all in for an action packed weekend. There will be refreshments available at the venue and there are a wealth of Hotels and B&B's close by to rest after wards. Swindon also has a host of restaurants available near the venue and in the Old Town area.

We also have secured a great rate with the Jury's Inn, a brand new hotel in Swindon and very close to the conference. More details on our hotels page including on-line booking with our special Weird username and password.

Issue 5 of UFO Matrix magazine is now out as well as the brand new Paranormal magazine. Our good friend Brian Allan is now editor of paranormal and we wish him good luck in his new role. Both magazines have raised the bar in terms of quality and articles and Weird highly recommends getting your hands on a copy of them. An extract from a recent review by BUFORA follows:

UFO Matrix ticks all the right boxes and the contributors and editors are highly experienced in their fields and specialisms. The magazine also promotes and profiles activity in the conference and courses in the U.K. and further afield, promoting conferences and event listings, so readers can get out there to meet the speakers and authors at various venues around the regions. There are links to books, radio shows and all manner of UFO related items.

The production quality of the magazine is extremely high and for £5.99, this magazine is worth every penny. It’s run by a group of researchers and investigators who have already achieved a long and experienced track record in books, special case studies, lectures and past magazine production.

The British UFO Research Association recommends you purchase the magazine at your local newsagent or buy on line. If you are interested in the subject, no matter what your views or perceptions of the UFO phenomenon, this magazine is the one for you.

Alien Museum

Weird have teamed up with artist Step Sherman and present Alien Museum, a unique collection of works based on his experiences. Step describes this as actual extra-terrestrial encounters over a period of recent years that has allowed access to distinct visions and images of a ‘place’. The ideas resonate from a higher dimension where patterns of humans, animals, plants, advanced machinery, insects and a vast array of mythical creatures have been stored in an out of this world akashic where all counterparts are mixed and configured for cosmic research, learning and entertainment – much the same as the earth mirror of zoos, circuses, experimental labs and museums.

His work will soon feature in a series of articles in a UK national magazine. Why not take a look at Step's artwork at the Alien Museum.

Weird Talking

We are recording a new series of talk shows with researchers and authors. The first of these shows will be a one-off special with short interviews with each of the speakers involved in the Weird 11 Event. The show is due out at the end of April and will be available from the main website. We plan to produce a series of monthly shows in 2011 which will also be available for download on iTunes and other streaming websites.

Focus on Speaker

Each month we focus on one of the speakers at the Weird 11 event and we start with Andy Thomas.

We were lucky to get Andy to speak at Weird this year as he has a very busy schedule. Watch out for the interview with him on the Weird Talking show.

Andy Thomas is a leading researcher into unexplained mysteries and author of many books, including the acclaimed ‘The Truth Agenda’ and ‘Vital Signs’, described by many as the definitive guide to the crop circle phenomenon. Andy widely writes and lectures and has made numerous radio and TV appearances.

In a thought-provoking presentation, Andy Thomas, author of the book The Truth Agenda, explores some of the most famous unexplained mysteries of recent history, finding unexpected linking threads between them. What is the truth about UFOs, pyramids, religious apparitions, psychic phenomena, visions of the future and ancient prophecies, and what is their connection to famous conspiracy theories concerning the Moon landings, 9/11 and claims that the world is secretly run by a powerful ruling elite?

And Finally.....

Let us know if you have any questions about the conference. You can call us on 01793 484510 (please leave a message) or by email via our contact page
