Hypgnagogic Light Experience Comes to Weird 11
The persons concerned mentioned the encounter with a very bright light as the cause of these positive changes. The Viennese neurologist and founder of logo-therapy and existential analysis Viktor E. Frankl (1905-1997) described the spiritual dimension of the human being as an instance outside the range of illness.
The HYPGNAGOGIC LIGHT EXPERIENCE “taps” into this source of health in the light.
The HYPNAGOGIC LIGHT EXPERIENCE produces effortlessly and without long hours of practice:
• Quick and sustained deep relaxation
• The feeling of being outside one’s body
• Spiritual or transcendental experiences
• Being beyond time and space
• “Deceleration”
• Enhanced joy of living
• Increased learning aptitude and achievement potential
The clinical therapeutic application of the HYPNAGOGIC LIGHT EXPERIENCE has been successful in treating:
• Fear and depression
• Trauma and other psychological symptoms
• Pain
• Dependence and addiction (in prevention and therapy)
• Life and identity crises
• Burn-out
• Insomnia
• Sexual disorders and loss of libido
At Weird 11 you can see a demonstration of this machine and meet the creators!

Weird 11: 17th & 18th September 2011 : Speaker Profile : Robert Bauval
Robert Bauval - The Master Game
Robert Bauval was born in Egypt in 1948. He studied construction engineering in England and subsequently worked in the Middle East and Africa till 1985. In 1994 he published The Orion Mystery, which was a No1 bestseller and now translated in more than 25 languages. He also wrote Keeper of Genesis (in 1996 with Graham Hancock), which was also a No.1 bestseller, and now in more than 20 languages. He lives in Spain with his wife Michele.
Hancock and Bauval have teamed up yet again to investigate the murky origins of the conflict haunting us today: the inevitable 'clash of civilizations' between the Islamic and the Western worlds. The conclusions are as riveting as they are shocking: a covert 'master game' that has been played undetected over two millennial by powerful forces causing endless genocides and destruction and, if not properly understood, could draw the world into an 'armageddon' of devastating proportion.
What is the Master Game? Who is playing it? And what is the prize?

Weird 11: 17th & 18th September 2011 : Speaker Profile : Graham Hancock
Weird has a large market area, refreshments and the Alien Museum Exhibit! Don't miss this weekend!
Elves, Aliens, Angels and Ayahuasca
Every day scientists learn more and more about humanity and our past, often turning up new evidence that challenges the accepted views and received wisdom of long-established orthodoxy. Graham Hancock is widely recognised as an unconventional thinker who raises controversial questions about humanity and its history, and his public lectures and television appearances, including Quest For The Lost Civilisation, have promoted his ideas before audiences of tens of millions. Tonight Graham will talk about revelations from his book Supernatural: Meeting the Ancient Teachers of Mankind. In his talk he will outline how less than 50,000 years ago mankind had no art, no religion, no sophisticated symbolism, no innovative thinking. Then, in a dramatic and electrifying change - described by scientists as 'the greatest riddle in human history' - all the skills and qualities that we value most highly in ourselves appeared already fully formed, as though bestowed on us by hidden powers. Graham will discuss this mysterious before-and-after moment in a bid to discover the truth about the influences that gave birth to the modern human mind.
Graham’s talk will take us on a journey from the stunningly beautiful painted caves of prehistoric France, Spain and Italy, to rock shelters in the mountains of South Africa, where he finds extraordinary stone age art. He will uncover clues that lead us to the depths of the Amazon rainforest where shamans drink the powerful hallucinogen ayahuasca, and whose paintings contain images of supernatural beings identical to the animal-human hybrids depicted in prehistoric caves.
Scientists at the forefront of consciousness research have begun to consider the possibility that such hallucinations may be real perceptions of other dimensions. Could the supernaturals first depicted in the painted caves be the ancient teachers of mankind?
Could it be that human evolution is not just the meaningless process that Darwin identified, but something more purposive and intelligent that we have barely begun to understand?

Anthony Peake Joins Weird 11
Anthony Peake grew up on the Wirral, near Liverpool. He was educated at Wirral Grammar School, Warwick University and the London School of Economics. He is a member of the International Association for the Study of Dreams, The Scientific & Medical Network and the Society for Psychical Research. In January 2011 he was offered, and accepted, a research fellowship at the Giordano Bruno Global Shift University. He has also recently been listed as one of the 200 “Visionaries” for the 21st Century. On 27th October 2011 his much anticipated third book, Out of the Body Experiences: The History and Science of Astral Travel will be published. With a preface written by Nobel Prize nominated Professor Ervin Laszlo this book will present his intriguing new hypothesis regarding the nature and function of the out-of-body experience.
Talk Synopsis
The Out-of-Body Experience - A New Explanatory Model of Astral Travel &, Lucid Dreaming
This will be the first ever public lecture that Anthony will be giving on his new book. In it he will present a paradigm-changing model that attempts to explain exactly what is taking place during an “Ecsomatic Experience”. Drawing upon the latest findings in the fields of quantum physics, neurology and neurochemistry In the preface to Anthony’s book Professor Ervin Laszlo writes:
“Anthony Peake has written the most incredibly lucid and comprehensive book on the most incredibly complex and mysterious subject. This book should be read – read by everyone who has ever asked herself or himself whether what we perceive in the everyday world is really that world. And whether there are perceptions that are entirely beyond that world. He brings us closer to understanding the mystery of the real world, and of the many ways that we can apprehend it. This is what this book is all about. It is about a great deal, as much or more than any book I have ever read. Reading it is a mind-expanding experience that must not be missed.”
Be among the first to hear exactly why Professor Laszlo feels motivated to write such a comment.
We will be removing the film 'The Stone' from our line-up. The website and ticket information will be updated over the next 24 hours.

Lucy Wyatt - Approaching Chaos The product of some ten years of comprehensive and passionate research, Approaching Chaos urges us to take a good look way back beyond those societies always admired as the first civilized examples, to re-think accepted accounts and concepts of history and go back over 5,000 years to focus on the Bronze Age civilizations. Nearly always considered to be both primitive and pagan, Lucy Wyatt reveals them to be in many ways extraordinarily sophisticated, well-rounded and highly successful infrastructures that combine the spiritual and the practical. She ardently believes that from them the ancient Greeks and Romans actually learnt and, even more pertinently, we can learn a tremendous amount that has been disregarded for far too long. After studying International Relations and Italian at University, Lucy Wyatt went on to work for the National Economic Development Office, then in commercial design and marketing within Sir Terence Conran's empire and followed this by editing a business magazine for a firm of City of London stockbrokers. Lucy Wyatt comes from an illustrious family of mathematicians, architects and writers and herself has a life-long fascination for the ancient past and the political and economic realities of the 'bigger picture'. She lives with her family on an eco-farm in Suffolk, where she puts much of what she has learnt from her research into practice. Approaching Chaos is her first book.

Nick Pope - Lizards and Lies: The Truth about Conspiracy Theories Is the world really run by a shadowy elite of shape-shifting reptilians, hell-bent on engineering some sinister New World Order? Do democratically-elected governments really assassinate errant Royals and government scientists, or engineer false flag attacks that kill thousands of their own citizens? And if they don’t, why do so many people believe otherwise? In this provocative and entirely new presentation, former Ministry of Defence official Nick Pope will examine a wide range of popular conspiracy theories, such as those involving 9/11, the death of Princess Diana, chemtrails and the death of weapons inspector Dr David Kelly. Drawing on his extensive experience of the way in which government works, he’ll evaluate these theories critically and see whether any of them could be true. Author, journalist and TV personality Nick Pope used to run the British Government's UFO project at the Ministry of Defence. Initially sceptical, his research and investigation into the UFO phenomenon and access to classified government files on the subject soon convinced him that the phenomenon raised important defence and national security issues, especially when the witnesses were military pilots, or where UFOs were tracked on radar. While working on the MoD's UFO project Nick Pope also looked into alien abductions, crop circles, animal mutilations, remote viewing and ghosts. He is now recognised as a leading authority on UFOs, the unexplained and conspiracy theories. He does extensive media work, lectures all around the world and has acted as presenter, consultant or contributor on numerous TV and radio shows.

Andrew Gough - The Real Lost Symbol Veneration of the Sacred Bee is an esoteric tradition shared by civilisations of all epochs, including the Sumerians, Egyptians, Minoans, Greeks and Mayans. The diminutive creature's many life-affirming by-products ensured that it was deified across the ancient world, yet somehow its importance has been forgotten, despite the fact that the United States of America is founded on its principals, as is freemasonry, politics and many esoteric concepts. Today, the Sacred Bee appears to be dying. Can it be saved, and if so, what can we learn from history’s greatest ‘lost tradition’? Andrew Gough is the former director of the Institute of Interdisciplinary Sciences and current chairman of The Rennes Group – one of the most respected esoteric societies in Europe. He has contributed to best selling books such as The Dan Brown Companion and The Ancient Code, writes for various journals and has been featured in numerous television documentaries. Most recently, Andrew has starred in the Warner Brothers film, The Stone; a supernatural esoteric thriller, due for international release in 2011. Andrew lives and works in London, England.

Marcus Allen - Ancient Technology of the Egyptians In modern times, granite is easily cut and shaped using diamond drills and tungsten-tipped chisels. In Ancient Egypt, 100 ton obelisks and blocks of granite were cut from the bed-rock, and shaped using diorite pounding balls, copper tools and sand. This is the accepted consensus. But these crude methods are so unlikely to have produced the visible results as to be, at best, simply a guess. The elegant and sophisticated artifacts seen across Egypt from Giza to Luxor to Aswan and displayed in the great museums of the world, are testament to whatever technique was used in their creation. Today, this technology is a mystery to us. Stylised human/animal statues carved from granite, intricate hieroglyphs cut into granite obelisks and perfectly flat blocks of granite are some of the proof for this technology. The rain forests of South America might be the place to start looking for answers. In his illustrated presentation, Marcus will show evidence indicating the skills seemingly in use over 4,000 years ago. These results would be virtually impossible to replicate today, using the tools we are told were available in Ancient Egypt. But is the evidence for the actual technology simply ‘hidden in plain sight’? After a career with a major Motor manufacturer, Marcus changed jobs completely and became the UK publisher of NEXUS Magazine, which he and his wife first introduced to this country in 1994. Since then, he has appeared on many TV and radio programmes and given numerous presentations both here and abroad, discussing subjects sometimes considered controversial. These include the Apollo Moon Landings, political conspiracies, and UFOs, as well as promoting NEXUS Magazine. The continually increasing number of readers evidently like what they read - they have made NEXUS the world’s best selling alternative news magazine. He has found that selling a good magazine is very similar to selling a good car - both should have the ‘Wow!’ factor. |
Tony Eccles - Shamanism and Close Encounters Tony Eccles has worked in the heritage sector for seventeen years and is employed as an ethnographer at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum in Exeter. He has been a member of BUFORA since the early 90s and is fascinated with the ideas surrounding the possibilities of contact with an extraterrestrial intelligence. Tony was co-founder of the Merseyside Anomalies Research Association (MARA) in addition to hosting a programme on the UFO phenomenon on Radio Merseyside. His book A Different Sky documenting many strange sightings and experiences from Merseyside was published in 2003. He has conducted many years of wide-ranging research and investigation into UFOs and paranormal events. |
Dennis Price - My introduction to 'ancient mysteries' came in the form of 'Gods, Graves and Scholars', a wonderful and engrossing book that my mother gave to me when I was about ten years old. Published in 1949, it provided the reader with what amounted to the history of archaeology and exploration up until that point, but the subject that really captured my imagination was the discovery of what had previously been thought of as the fabled or legendary city of Troy. The entire academic world of the time believed that the Iliad and Odyssey were works of pure fiction, but Schliemann chose to believe every word of them and in so doing, made one of the most momentous discoveries in history. In later years, like millions of other people, I became interested in subjects such as Camelot, Atlantis, the notion of ancient astronauts and so on, as well as other mysteries such as the fate of the Princes in the Tower or the truth behind Kaspar Hauser. Which is the 'greatest ancient mystery of them all?' I don't know, but I eventually settled on Stonehenge as I ended up living within a few miles of the ruins for a decade. At some point, I came across a reference that suggested that William Blake was referring to Stonehenge when he wrote of 'dark satanic mills' in his poem Jerusalem, which in turn reminded me of the opening line "And did those feet in ancient time, walk upon England's mountains green?" This was a clear reference to the notion that Jesus once visited the British Isles, presumably during those years of his life on which the Bible is silent. This apparently undocumented period comprises 18 years, from when Jesus was twelve years old and amazing the Elders with his understanding of scripture in the temple, to the point when he reappeared and embarked upon his famous ministry, aged thirty or thereabouts. It took a while for the full enormity of this to dawn upon me, but the essence of it is that the single most famous human being that the world has ever known was mysteriously missing for over half his lifetime. Even when we look at figures such as Attila the Hun, who emerged from the steppes of Asia in the fifth century, we know some details of his youth, while the same applies to King Arthur, that enigmatic figure from the Dark Ages. I initially looked into this matter for around three months without finding anything remotely noteworthy and I was about to abandon the whole enterprise. Then I belatedly noticed one very interesting 'thing' that had been staring us all in the face for around two thousand years and this became the solid foundation of what turned out to be a highly unusual 'missing person's investigation' that eventually placed a young man from the Middle East in the West of England and South Wales at the end of the Iron Age for almost two decades.

The aim of our project is to tell stories, build imaginary worlds and invite all people to experience, interact and eventually become apart of these worlds. The story goes… "The Kepler Corporation is Earths leading specialist in space exploration, aeronautics and off world colonisation. The Program Initiative is Kepler's latest and most ambitious initiative since the installation of the KILO Moon outposts. The objective of The Program Initiative is to investigate the SEA phenomenon surrounding our Sun known informally as ‘The Anomaly." |

Acoustic 'cloaking device' shields objects from sound
Such acoustic cloaking was proposed theoretically in 2008 but has only this year been put into practice.
Described in Physical Review Letters, the approach borrows many ideas from attempts to "cloak" objects from light.
It uses simple plastic sheets with arrays of holes, and could be put to use in making ships invisible to sonar or in acoustic design of concert halls.
Much research has been undertaken toward creating Harry Potter-style "invisibility cloaks" since the feasibility of the idea was first put forward in 2006.
Those approaches are mostly based on so-called metamaterials, man-made materials with properties that do not occur in nature. The metamaterials are designed such that they force light waves to travel around an object; to an observer, it is as if the object were not there.
But researchers quickly found out that the mathematics behind bending these light waves, called transformation optics, could also be applied to sound waves.
"Fundamentally, in terms of hiding objects, it's the same - how anything is sensed is with some kind of wave and you either hear or see the effect of it," said Steven Cummer of Duke University. "But when it comes to building the materials, things are very different between acoustics and electromagnetics.
"The thing you need to engineer into the materials is very different behaviour in different directions that the wave travels through it," he told BBC News.
In 2008, Dr Cummer first described the theory of acoustic cloaking in an article in Physical Review Letters, and earlier this year a group from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign demonstrated the first practical use of the theory in an article in the same journal.
That work showed acoustic invisibility in a shallow layer of water, at ultrasound frequencies above those we can hear.
Now, Dr Cummer and his colleagues have shown off an acoustic cloaking technique that works in air, for audible frequencies between one and four kilohertz - corresponding to two octaves on the higher half of a piano.
The cloaking shell is made of easily-manufactured sheets of plastic with holes through them It works by using stacked sheets of plastic with regular arrays of holes through them. The exact size and placement of the holes on each sheet, and the spacing between the sheets, has a predictable effect on incoming sound waves.
When placed on a flat surface, the stack redirects the waves such that reflected waves are exactly as they would be if the stack were not there at all.
That means that an object under the stack - in the team's experiments, a block of wood about 10cm long - would not "hear" the sound, and any attempts to locate the object using sound waves would not find it.
"How the sound reflects off this reflecting surface with this composite object on it - which is pretty big and has a cloaking shell on it - really reflects... just like a flat surface does," Dr Cummer said.
Hole poking
Ortwin Hess, a director of Imperial College London's Centre for Plasmonics and Metamaterials, called the work "a really remarkable experimental demonstration".
"It shows very nicely that although acoustic and electromagnetic waves are very different in nature, the powers of transformation optics and transformation acoustics are [similar] - I'm quite pleased that there's activity on both ends."
Professor Hess pointed out that the demonstration was for very directed sound waves, and only in two dimensions, but the most notable aspect of the approach was its simplicity.
"It's almost like someone could take a pencil and poke holes in a particular way in the plastic," he told BBC News.
"It's a bit more challenging for three dimensions. I don't see any reason why it shouldn't be possible but it won't be just an afternoon's work."
The work shows that an object can be hidden from sonar, and protected from incoming sound, but the same principles could be applied in the other direction - that is, containing or directing the sound within a space, for instance in soundproofing a studio or fine-tuning the acoustics of a concert hall.

Alien Museum - How it all started - Abducted!
Step believes the ideas resonate from this higher dimension where patterns of humans, animals, plants, advanced machinery, insects and a vast array of mythical creatures have been stored in an out of this world akashic where all counterparts are mixed and configured for cosmic research, learning and entertainment. In some ways a mirror to our own zoos, circuses, experimental labs and museums.
Perhaps imagination comes from a different reality and if so, Alien Museum is a filter, shaping the ideas and concepts that Step visualises in his work.
The Alien museum is an infinite space, with small rooms that feel larger when you enter, the internal space expanding as necessary to reveal the strange, perhaps even bizarre contents. The vaults appear to become truly massive when exposed to the human consciousness giving no limits to what lies inside apart from perhaps the limits of the viewers imagination.
Step is not alone when exploring this reality, other people can be seen viewing the exhibits, a feature expressed in the artwork he produces. Are these other creative consciousness’s, each viewing and then expressing what they have witnessed in whatever creative way they can? Some like Step through art, others perhaps through sculpture or writing?
Access to the museum is achieved in different ways. Occasionally the visions come through meditation, but as Step says sometimes the images come to him for no apparent reason. They appear out of the blue as a fleeting glimpse and are in danger of being lost forever. These are exciting times as Step has to stop everything else he may be doing to ensure he captures the images accurately.
There is a sense of energy within the museum, one that surrounds and penetrates. The exhibits are arranged in strange and weird anatomical ways, at least from our realities perspective. The final physical representation of any of the exhibits housed in the museum could be reconfigured in any way and placed in any dimension and in any time, not simply what would work in our reality as we experience it.
The images have become more elaborate since the first image of ‘Exhibit’ was received. As Step explores his surroundings his paintings become more detailed and the contents of the cells become more exotic. Step has become consumed by the experiences, so much so he cannot visualise working on anything else and sees no end to the images and the resulting artwork. Step believes that it is important that everyone sees, if not totally understands, what he visualises from the museum and that it is important. It moves away from the standard Alien and paranormal encounters and takes us down a different path of exploration of possible realities that exist around us.
‘Exhibit’ (pictured) was the first image received and painted by Step. This was quickly followed by other images. Step has now created fifteen paintings from the Museum including works entitled Mermaid, Godzilla and Structure amongst others.
It perhaps is hard to accept the idea that these images of existence could be stored, filed and used as reference for those who choose to access them. Whatever the reality, no-one can doubt that the images created by Step are unique and combined with his style of painting, represent something truly different in a world dominated by the same kind of experiences of UFOs, ghosts and other anomalous events.
In many aspects, Alien Museum represents the perfect paranormal anomaly.
Step has worked with Mad Magazine & Spitting Image and has had numerous successful exhibitions in London during the nineties, including his sell out show, ‘Freaks no More'. His works have graced the boardrooms of Live 8, Big Issue and the Lighthouse Camden. He has an ever growing international collector base with portraits owned by Pink Floyd, Richard Ashcroft, Underworld and Ian Brown amongst others.
Chris Williams is an established UFO & Paranormal investigator and is the creator and organiser of the Weird Events Conference in 2011 - Weird 11 – the Premier Conferences you can attend in the UK today.

May News Update
Welcome to the Weird May News update.
Evening of Saturday 17th
With the Saturday activities ending at 7:30pm we have been asked if we would put on a buffet and extend the opening hours of the event until 10pm. We think this is a good idea but wondered what you thought? There would be a small additional charge for the buffet but it sounds like a great chance to meet new friends and chat about our favourite subject matters. If we get enough interest in this we will arrange to keep the event open - but you have to let us know!
Fancy Dress & Raffles
We had no intention of running any other activities this year, but we have had a number of people write in and ask about raffles and some even asking if we could put on a Fancy Dress competition. At first we were very sceptical about the Fancy Dress, but then though it would be a bit of fun to do. If we get enough interest in the fancy dress we will run a competition on the event day and give out some prizes for the best costume. You can come as anything you want as long as it is themed around the event.
Weird Articles & Multi-Media
The new design of the website gave us the opportunity to promote articles and to link to various videos and audio files on the internet. We will be publishing our own material as well, but will more than welcome any submissions that we can put on the site for others to view.
Ticket Affiliates
Weird have always been open to working with partners and this month we launched our official affiliates programme. Although currently geared towards ticket sales the program does extend to the artwork of Step Shurman and the Alien Museum. Our thanks to the six affiliates that have already signed up and we look forward to expanding the program in the run up to our huge event this year. Signing up to the programme does give lifetime commissions, as our events will continue for many years to come and our product range will expand. If you have a website why not sign up?
We have also signed up a number of high street shops in towns around Wiltshire who are selling tickets. If you have customers who you think may be interested in the Weird 11 Event, why not get in touch and offer tickets for sale? Weird 11 is an international event so wherever you are based you could still benefit! Remember you still attract the commission for each sale!

Features:
Weird Investigations
Back in 2010 we ran a series of paranormal evenings under the Weird Investigations banner. Weird Investigations is back in 2011 but with a slightly modified format. As the organiser of Weird I am fortunate to have investigated hundreds of cases. These cases range from Alien Abduction to full body ghostly apparitions. From June 2011 I am re-opening the case book and will be looking at cases reported into Weird in my role as an objective investigator and researcher. We may also run public investigations and if we have enough interest to take a small group of people with us. We would limit this number to five or six under normal circumstances. If you have an experience or a sighting, then get in touch via our website!
Alien Museum
The Alien Museum has been open for a month and we have received a lot of positive feedback. Each of these pieces is unique and only one exists of each type. An article about the museum will be appearing soon but why not take a look at this artwork and consider owning one of these very unique items. The artist, Step Shurman has a growing international following and you could have one of his works on your wall!
Speaker: Nick Pope - Lizards and LiesIs the world really run by a shadowy elite of shape-shifting reptilians, hell-bent on engineering some sinister New World Order?
Weird Talking - Outer Limits Radio Show
A new monthly paranormal radio show is being broadcast on Swindon 105.5 from June this year. I will be a studio regular from mid-June onwards. from 10pm - 11pm. You can listen to the show via the internet on the Swindon 105.5 website and we will put out a reminder for the show on facebook and on the Weird News page.
Visit to Megalithomania
Weird were at the 2011 Megalithomania conference at the Assembly Halls in Glastonbury this month. The conference had a fantastic atmosphere and we got to meet lots of fantastic people. The event was a great success and we would like to that Thalia and Hugh for their kind hospitality while we were there! A few strange conversations were had and the Weird Stall generated a lot of positive interest from people new to us and for those who had been to our 2010 event and popped over to say hello.
Look out for the new issues of UFO Matrix and Paranormal Magazine - Sponsors of Weird.
